1) How will a care giver know my emergency information is available at My-Emergency-Information.com? How will a care giver know my emergency information is available at My-Emergency-Information.com?
When you sign up we will issue you a medical emergency ID card. It will specify your personal emergency internet address. Carry it in your wallet or purse. When you log in to the site, there is a button that says, "Upload Photos." Just click on that button and you will be given a "browse" feature to upload your picture. Alternately, you can e-mail your picture to us and we will add it for you. Is it risky to list my Social Security number in my information? We recommend you don't list it here since you information is available to be seen by others if you have an accident. Someone could use this number for identify theft. If you are in a group health plan, insurance companies often use your social security number as your member number. If this is the case, don't list this number in your emergency information. By the way, you can usually change your membership number to one that is not your social security number by contacting the health insurance company. That's a good idea anyway! Will you automatically bill my credit card after 12 months? No. We will notify you before the anniversary and ask if you would like to renew. What if I forget to re subscribe - or to pay my bill? If you forget to re subscribe or to pay your current charges, we will remove your information. You can then re-enter it if you decide to re-subscribe but you will be charged the initial subscription fee in effect at the time instead of the annual renewal charge. Will you ever give (or sell) my name and address to any other party? No. The only exception would be if you intentionally click on a link to go to one of our affiliate web sites. We will notify them that you came from our web site. Why is this service so inexpensive? It is very automated and uses E-Mail for almost all correspondence. Why does having a picture on my membership card cost an extra dollar? There is no extra charge for a picture on the free emergency information card you receive with your initial membership. For additional or replacement cards however, it takes more time to prepare and process the card if there is a picture on it - thus the $1.00 additional fee. Is my spouse's account separate from mine? Yes, completely separate. Your spouse will have his/her own account and records at My-Emergency-Information.com which are independent of yours. They are not connected in any way. In fact, your spouse can change his/her name, passwords, and other information as circumstances change. You can do the same. Keeping your children's information is a good idea, and free. There is a small charge however for cards and labels. We especially recommend you order labels for your children which you can put put on lunch boxes, book bags, and sports equipment. This will give care givers immediate access who to call if your child has an accident. How can I get Customer Service or Technical Support?
