Bruce is an avid computer user and it occurred to him the internet offered a unique way to keep his personal emergency information updated and immediately available to a care giver - anywhere on the planet. "Virtually every medical facility and police organization in the world now has direct access to the internet. This puts the information in the site just a 'click away' for care givers, in any town, on any continent." "I decided to start a service and make it available to other travellers for just a small fee on an annual basis. I intend to grow the site large enough so that, eventually, any care giver anywhere in the world will check for an My-Emergency-Information.Com card when an injured patient arrives. Then I came to the logical conclusion that having emergency information available for a local hospital is just as important as one overseas." The idea grew to include a person's passport information in case they lost their passport while traveling. "Having to replace a lost passport while overseas is hard enough. If you have your passport information available on our web site it will make the process easier. Also, we put links on the site so travelers can easily look up the local address of embassies and consulates. We started with links to US and British offices but we will be adding other countries on a continuing basis. It occurred to Bruce that keeping a record of vaccinations would also be helpful. "If you loose, or forget to bring your vaccination card with you on a trip, being able to look up your vaccinations with dates will be very useful."
